baad
ok i know this is bit late but been tied down (to the bed.. haha) for the weekend.
Went for a discussion dinner with Shann last thurs.
She said, there is a new restaurant in citylink.
so we went there for dinner.
it was beside hmv.
very huge place.
New York, New York is the name.
after 5mins, we manage to get a table.
the tables are widish, said Shann. of course, the plates are wide, rather than big.
oh
Shann decided on having fish n chips (not many places do good ones, tell me if you know any)
i wanted salmon sandwich and root beer.
since we were there, might as well look around and scrutinize the place.
tables are packed tightly together, to squeeze as many patrons in i think.
the menu is nice and glossy. food selection impressive. food names/description sound yummy
food came. drinks no.
omg, said Shann. why why.
the fries on her plate was 'double fried'
it was clanky (the sound of the fries hitting the plate) and brown, dark brown.
horrible.
not much of a presentation too, just the fish plus some coleslaw and fries
the first impression of the place it gave me, something bit like NYDC, something upmarket and funky. but i realise it wasn't at all.
i think they are more average, no wonder the prices are quite low compared to others.
$9.90 for the fish n chips, $8.90 for my salmon sandwich.
the staff wears baby blue polo tshirts, thin kind. not too neat to me. not too smiley. i think understaffed. they were all flying all over the place, and because space is limited, nearly wham into me.
isn't new york suppose to be big? so how come space is so tight. asked Shann.
i don't know. never been there. this is more like japanese food place. haaa
you know singaporeans, they'll flock to new places. so there they were, all lining up for a meal outside. it was packed at 7pm.
do you want desserts? i asked Shann.
nah, no mood. the fries sucked.
oops. so we decided to grab hold of a black-polo-tshirt-wearing-i-assume-to-be-a-manager manager to tell him about the fries.
there were two of them.
mr. skinny and mr.big
mr. big was directing traffic
mr. skinny was directing staff
we wanted mr.big cos he looked friendlier but end up calling mr. skinny.
hey your fries looked like double-fried. said me.
wait
wait
(if he's reaction is, oh ok thanks, we will so not come back again)
oh i'm sorry, i'll tell the head chef about it. replied mr. skinny
ah.. decent answer.
they still have hope.
he even came back and repeated the line while clearing our plates.
well, tried and tested. now it is your turn to comment.

packed
so what have you been doing this whole week?
tell me.
me?
well it was a well arranged (i think) week.
monday i went home after work for a be-a-good-daughter night, plus the fact there was Grey's (hey Irish!) and scrubs (hilarious) at night.
tuesday was better. i was looking forward to have a kick-ass authentic (not really) 麻辣 hotpot at bugis with my dearest clowns. it was funny. the guys became pouty-lips girls after they wolfed down the food that was entirely cooked in the spicy! section. i don't know if that is heroism or...
wednesday was good too. had a sauna badmintonn session with yet more clowns. rather only two of them. ooh my badminton sucks.
and i am short (yes yes i got laughed at for not getting the high balls).
oh there was pickle ball too. tell you more next time. need to investigate more.
thursday went shopping, didn't get anything tho.duh. ended up having white wine (hot weather!!) at robertson's.
friday? ah yes, more shopping. no buys again. although i see lots. lots of people in town too! scary. one crazy girlfriend said, i want beer and pizza. so okay, we had some in No.5. plus more crazy girlfriends too. sleepy after that, went home.
saturday.. wait. what did i do yesterdae? oh.. i woke up thinking i was late for work (this has gotta stop, i am getting this everyweekend)
went to town(even more people !), had chicky rice at river valley's, went to the west, came back to town for cake and coffee (wanted scones tho~), went to meidi-ya for groceries oogling. went to west again.
last stop, coastes@sentosa.
for a beer and pizza. again. hahahah.
nice. no breeze. only people looking for diamond rings in the sand
and yam-seng cheering groups who throws birthday people into the sea.
went home to sleep.
today? last day of the week and the weekend (sob~)
woke up to know..
that the germans won 3-1
that the fridge door was left opened
that i had to wash some clothes
that i had to throw out the trash
that i smelt durian in the house
that it was raining when i am suppose to play tennis later
tell me.
