rain

eks, the rain season is officially in. a little late i think. it started raining non stop from sunday morning. spoilt my tennis sunday and ended up being a movie potato. *refer to previous post for movie. haha

then whole of monday, rain rain rain. always glad i had my boots on all the time. by the time i got to orchard-people-boulevard, the rain had gone from tiny Thumbelina to Hercules big wooo wooo. was trapped at the bus stop. while pondering if i should make a run for takashimaya, there was some ruffled feathers drama. two supermodelly-thin girls came into the bus stop which by the way was packed with dry people. the girls was passing by the place using their brollies which almost poked this half balding uncle. he caught hold of the tips of the brolly (of one of the girls) and gave a mini lecture about being careful so she don't go around blinding people. oh heyhey, she retorted, yeah yeah i know (in a really sarcastic tone of course). ooh haha, mr.uncle glared back and shouted, f*%# you! so i thought yeah, i should run incase they start to throw brollies at each other, i still want to recieve all my xmas pressies you know.

so i waded through the flooded car-packed road and waited for people to show up.after all the shopping, we decided to have some dinner at the food court. of course about half of takashimaya was looking for food too. actually the pasta looked really nice until we hit a big block of stone. there were seats yes, but they had some silly system which you had to queue up, order, pay then find a seat. and plus the staff was rude too. the manager, mumbled, order here, while balancing two plates and walking off. don't bother going there, the stall/place which i cannot remember the name, why should i anyway, is facing the elevators at one side and near to the indian mama shop at the other. so we gave up and tried the next door neighbour who sold german sausages. guess what, same system. by the time we started queueing, the seats were long gone.

ended up next door (yes we were moving closer to the supermarket already, haha!). fish and chips. beer battered fish and chips. polite crew at last! for $12, you get soup, fries, fish, a drink and ice cream of decent size. what a burstful dinner

by the time i hopped onto the bus, it was pouring. like a girl who hasn't cried for years. if rain represented her tears, why is she so sad? especially at the end of the year. is it because she hasn't gotten her xmas pressies yet? is it because she hasn't managed to go on a holiday? or is she actually happy? you tell me.

more movies

this week i managed to catch two movies.

eragon
courtesy of my very busy friend who invited me for a private preview. i received her call,
hey do you wanna catch eragon?
hmmm. okay let me check the papers... eragon is not on yet.
yes it is, the show is a preview one, so she said.
i checked the papers once more.
no it isn't on, the only preview show is The Holiday.
yes it is, you idiot, stop wasting my sms, it is a PRIVATE PREVIEW!!
ohh...
anyway i met her boss (with big hair) and some of her colleagues. finally able to put some faces to the names. oh there were the Chequered Boys too. heee
back to the movie, it was like Lord of the Rings meet Dungeons & Dragons. a very mythical story about a boy (actually he was suppose to be 17 but well..) becoming a Dragon Rider. It's like spiderman, with great powers come great responsibilities. that is what life is about eh? but whether you choose to use it wisely that's another thing.

the holiday
a show fit for the season. a tale of two women across the continents swopping their homes for two weeks. i bet no one will dare to swop their room for mine. ha! but i think it would be nice to have a change of environment for a while. both the women, cameron diaz & kate winslet, had a bad experience, well , in their love life. cameron had a jerk in her life who cheated on her and she had a problem of really falling in love. she doubted if she even really did, till jude law came along. kate meanwhile had a another bigger #%$hole in her life. already got cheated on, he continued to hold her in his life, needing her and not cutting loose of her, making her so miserable. of course she had problems herself, she couldn't bear to let go and continues to punish herself for a good three years, loving him silently till he announced he is getting engaged (oh he 'forgot' to tell her). jerk!
