my cat & her 101 poses

cannot remember if i have told you about my latest cat. not that latest of course. oh yes, my fat cat, i have spoken about before, here.

she comes for dinner mainly. likes to rush into the house the moment the main door is open and sits where her food is stored. the whole idea is, she likes to roam around the house, like a queen, like this is her palace. excepts that the queen gets chased out of her palace when the REAL queen comes home. haha.

i just found out today from sister something new. sister saw cat downstairs with a malay lady feeding. lady wondered why cat responded when sister calls. the story is, lady used to own cat from kitten until one day cat disappeared and saw cat near next block (lady stays one block away). lady continues to feed cat even tho cat doesnt go home. lady was told by this uncle that cat is fine and taken care by someone (which turned out to be us) so lady is happy.

and lady said cat's name is COCO (or KOKO). ah. the cat's original name. nice.

presenting cat's 101 (or more) sleeping poses.

tohoku - part 5

back again. i stopped at part 4, where i was talking about the 'stuck' shinkansen. so i headed up further north on the shinkansen. landed at Fukushima City 福島市

outside the station, night.

dinner for the night. oyako don! which is chicken and egg rice. wooo. i like.

my place of rest. a business hotel, which is basically a hotel meant more for the business travellers, less amenities. room is tiny, just a place to rest, more than enough.

okay, this is the least photos i have posted. too tired. next time yeah.

keep a lookout!

Pork And Beans - Weezer

a fun song! They say i need some rogaine to put in my hair
Work it out at the gym to fit my underwear
Okaley makes the shades to transform a tool
You'd hate for the kids to think that you've lost your cool

Imma do the things that i wanna do
I ain't got a thing to prove to you
I'll eat my candy with the pork and beans
Excuse my manners if i make a scene
I ain't gonna wear the clothes that you like
I'm fine and dandy with the me inside
One look in the mirror and i'm tickled pink
I don't give a hoot about what you think

everyone likes to dance to a happy song
with a catchy chorus and beat so they can sing along
timbaland knows the way to reach the top of the charts
maybe if i work with him i can perfect the art

Imma do the things that i wanna do
I ain't got a thing to prove to you
I'll eat my candy with the pork and beans
Excuse my manners if i make a scene
I ain't gonna wear the clothes that you like
I'm fine and dandy with the me inside
one look in the mirror and i'm tickled pink
I don't give a hoot about what you think

no, i don't care
i don't care
i don't care
i don't care
i don't care
i don't care

Imma do the things that i wanna do
I ain't got a thing to prove to you
I'll eat my candy with the pork and beans
Excuse my manners if i make a scene
I ain't gonna wear the clothes that you like
I'm fine and dandy with the me inside
one look in the mirror and i'm tickled pink
I don't give a hoot about what you think

tohoku - part 4

ended part 3 with the beginning of toshogu shrine.

here, i continue on.

this is the famous three monkeys. see no evil, speak no evil & hear no evil.

famous Yomeimon Gate.

sleeping cat

other sights

shinkyo bridge. near to toshogu shrine.

next. i hopped onto the train, headed up further north and landed in the city of Aizu Wakamatsu 会津若松. i heard the sakuras, when they are in bloom, are very beautiful here.

streets.

Aizu Wakamatsu Castle 会津若松城

the limited edition sakura (i hope they are sakuras!) near the castle. i was too early for the flowers that is why you can only see the beginning of the bloom.

on the way to the train station to catch my next train, passed by the town.

this is the little retro bus that goes around the town which i took to the castle and back.

Aizu Wakamatsu Station

can you see the snow-capped mountains in the distance? even though spring is here, it is still cold.

took the local train to Koriyama 郡山 so i could connect to the Shinkansen=bullet train. at the Koriyama station, i found out something new! certain shinkansen services runs together. then at a certain point, they will go their seperate directions. so to avoid two trains running on the same track which waste money, they get 'stuck' together. like this!
tip: just make sure you are still on the correct train when they split.

tohoku - part 3

i'm gettin lazy. boy. and it's only part three.

well. where was i? ahh. the ropeway in Nikko日光.

view from the top. this is Lake Chuzenji 中禅寺湖 and you can also see Kegon Falls 華厳の滝.

after going down on the ropeway again, i had a snack. skewered chicken.

then i hopped on a bus that took me to the vicinity of the lake and kegon falls.

kegon falls

more snacks. shoyu senbei! = soya sauce rice cracker. all time favourite yo!

huge torii gate near to lake chuzenji. cloudy.

i want one!

after a couple of hours, i headed back to downtown Nikko. had to find a place to stay for the night so i wondered around and found the place i wanted but it was a long uphill walk, about 20mins. phew. this place is a minshuku 民宿 = family-run inn.

these guys basically convert their homes into mini hotel. the owner said: sorry no dinner.
because i didnt reserve the room beforehand so they didnt have time to prepare my dinner. eh. no problems at all!

it is called Rindo no ie りんどうの家. means, Rindo's house.

me room. small tv. warmer table, you stick your feet in and keeps them warm. some sorta heater underneath. complimentary tea (make your own). where's the bed? in the cupboard. haha. tatami style so it means you have to pull out the futonふとん=mattress at night and lay it on the floor.

corridor. i think there was about 5 rooms.

little corner.

since there wasnt any dinner, i walked to the little town. it started drizzling.

ramen shop, in i went.

sat at the bar counter. couldnt resist ordering one BIG bottle of Kirin.WOOO

yummy.

oh when i checked in, the owner asked if i wanted breakfast (for a fee of course). i requested extra early breakfast because i had to finish the sights at Nikko and head off elsewhere. so i had breakfast at about 730am. they had a kind of living room/dining room. i was alone and here is my breakfast!

wonderful full course jap-styled breakfast. big tub of rice (red container). tea. soup. egg roll. tofu. grilled salmon. pickles. sausage. hash brown.

paid up. asked owner for directions to the Toshogu Shrine area. he actually offered to drive me there! so kind of him. if i walk, it would be a good half hour. so i left at 8am and was there in 5mins. well, i am typically a night person but this day, i appreciate what an early morning can offer. peace. tranquility.

this is Rinnoji Temple 倫王寺

i was so early, the monks just finished their morning prayers.

next door. Toshogu Shrine 東照宮
since it was really still early, there wasnt much tourists around. which i only found out later when i exited the shrine, what a good thing it was to start early. well, nicer pics without meddlesome tourists for one.
