a nice day i reckon

took the day off. i don't work on 25 sep. i try not to.

got awoken by my folks at 10am. oh my.
'let's go for lunch!' cheered my mama.

okay... i dragged myself outta my sweet bed.

we headed for Red Star. where they still have the old fashioned push-cart timsum.

however, the only difference was, the push-cart ladies no longer hawked their stuff. they just stood around lazily and asked. i remembered the old times where they will literally shout their lungs out to let the world know what they have.

anyway, we had lots of tim sum.
got lazy to take the rest of the photo since i forgot my camera in my sleepiness. so i made do with my phone camera.

sent mama to work, went home with papa. then i headed out to the beach with trusty blueboo.

wheeeeee.here weee comeee!

hellu. i'm blueboo.

basically i just picked a spot and laid down on the bench with a book. till sunset.

planes flew past. everyone of them, i wished i was in there.

yes, i was at EAST coast. not WEST coast.
loved the sunset always.

okay, it's not too difficult to get this shot. all i had to do was to hold the camera in my right hand, sprawled on the breakwater on my belly, grabbed the flowers/grass with my left hand (it swayed too violently for my liking) and snapped this.

meanwhile, iboo provided some music.

how much will you give, to see your last sunset?

had my comfort food for dinner, fried rice + egg.

rounded the night up with some friends of the night.

i hope.
that.

everyone.

will have fun, always.

on their birthday.

canton-i

had some timsum over the long weekend. canton-i, located on the fourth floor of ion orchard, has a really nice ambience. the staff wears pink, you get birdcages painted in white, hung from the ceiling, indon-tai-tais chatting away while enjoying the food. not too pricey but not your normal chinese restaurant prices.

isn't he cute?
red-bean pau in disguise, OINK!

runaway post box

was going to open my mailbox when i saw this...
oh my! where did it go??

oh here it is. got shifted temporarily.

Japan in Spring, Part one

Visited Japan in April 2009, this year. It was spring in Japan.

Here is my photojournal!

byebye Stinkapore. well, you can tell by the control tower in the background.

JAL serves sake!

and beer!

Watched a movie and slept. Woke up to find that the beautiful sunrise is coming our way.

I think it was about 4.30am, stinkapore time. For breakie.

It was time, to relish the beautiful skies.

Japan!

Arrived at the Narita International Airport.

my pack

the two travellers, taking an express train.

Lunch on the train.

We were nearing Nagano.

Nagano Station 長野駅

On the way to one of the famed temple. Spring is in the air!

This is Zenkoji 善光寺. Apparently, they have some special events. Every 7 years only.

The crowds parted...

for the arrival of the high priestess, for blessings.
we were lucky because we were on the left of her, to receive the blessings first.

You cannot afford to ignore hungry people. We went for lunch at a nearby shop. Apparently, it was quite famous. J ordered tempura soba while i decided to try something new. In that sense, something i don't quite understand, from the menu.

Well, J got her tempura soba.

I got some fish soba.. which i wasn't too happy about. But well, that is what travel is about. Adventures!

Hopped onto another train!

can you see the rainbow?

We arrived at the ryokan we were staying for the night. They put us at the study area first, while preparing our welcome tea.

can you see the sakura?

our room!

view from our room

room 401, also known as Matsuyuki 初雪

It was dinnertime! We headed for the dining room.

after dinner, there were two crazy fellows fooling around in the main hall

bedtime. the futons were all laid out. good nite.
