here, i continue on.

this is the famous three monkeys. see no evil, speak no evil & hear no evil.

famous Yomeimon Gate.

sleeping cat

other sights

shinkyo bridge. near to toshogu shrine.

next. i hopped onto the train, headed up further north and landed in the city of Aizu Wakamatsu 会津若松. i heard the sakuras, when they are in bloom, are very beautiful here.

streets.

Aizu Wakamatsu Castle 会津若松城

the limited edition sakura (i hope they are sakuras!) near the castle. i was too early for the flowers that is why you can only see the beginning of the bloom.

on the way to the train station to catch my next train, passed by the town.

this is the little retro bus that goes around the town which i took to the castle and back.

Aizu Wakamatsu Station

can you see the snow-capped mountains in the distance? even though spring is here, it is still cold.

took the local train to Koriyama 郡山 so i could connect to the Shinkansen=bullet train. at the Koriyama station, i found out something new! certain shinkansen services runs together. then at a certain point, they will go their seperate directions. so to avoid two trains running on the same track which waste money, they get 'stuck' together. like this!
tip: just make sure you are still on the correct train when they split.
