difference

*phone rings.

i picked it up. "hello"
girl with tiny voice spoke.

girl: may i asked a few questions about City Z, in Country Y?
me: certainly.
girl: i want to bring my parents to City Z so which month is the best if it is not too cold for the folks?
me: May to Sep

girl continues to ask questions.

then came the question of the day.

girl: then i heard that sometimes it is dangerous to travel in certain months because there are more earthquakes.
me: what? mmmm... well earthquakes happens everyday actually, big and small
girl: but like Country T, i heard you should not head there because there are more typhoons in September
me: well those are typhoons, not earthquakes. Earthquakes are not predictable you know.
girl: oh really?
me: yes....

what i did not expect was, that was NOT the question of the day.

girl: oh i have one last question.
me: yes?
girl: i am heading for City Z right? so is the money the same?
me: i am sorry, i don't understand what you mean by 'money'
girl: oh you know there are City A, City B... so are they using the same type of money as City Z?
me: ah... you mean currency? yes... they.. are.. using .. the same.. money.. currency i mean.

mmm......

  1. Love this conversation. I guess many travel agents have to deal with all types of customers who simply have no idea about where they are traveling to.
